Monday:

• Icebreakers
• ​Introduction to Robots, definitions, examples, history, science, and components
• Introduction to the VEX robot system
• Group hands-on project: creating your first VEX robot from scratch
• VEX robot activity 1, where the VEX robots complete with each other in a team activity
• VEX robot activity 2, where the VEX robots complete in a more complex team activity
  
  

Tuesday:

• ​Introductions to machines
• Introduction to more complex machines and their applications
• Applying the principles of machines to robotics
• Introduction to programming fundamentals
• Introduction to programming the VEX robot system
• Introduction to VEX sensors
  
• Introduction to gathering of sensor data and usage of the sensor data in VEX software algorithms
• Group hands-on project where we apply our fundamental understanding of software programming to build an autonomous VEX robot that can make decisions based on sensor data autonomously without remote control input

Wednesday:

• Revisit the learnings from yesterday, looking at more real-world examples of the two key types of robots
• Creation of our second autonomous robot, which can utilize a different kind of sensor to perform a different quest autonomously 
• Our autonomous robot challenge, where the various teams showcase their programming prowess and robot build skills and share their ideas and learnings
• ​Introduction to VEX competitions
  
  

Thursday:

• Introduction to the seven stages in the Engineering Design Process
  
• Go through each of the seven Engineering Design Process stages in detail
• Apply the Engineering Design Process in the creation of the robot that will participate in the end-of-day group challenge; today's challenge will be remote-controlled
• The winning team will share their ideas and tips

Friday (Final competition and presentation day)

• ​Creation of the final tournament field
• Application of the Engineering Design Process steps to modifications of the robot design to satisfy the new requirements of the final day team competition
• Applying the programming principles to create software that will allow the robot to perform autonomously
• Applying the Engineering Design Process to adjust the integration of the robot design and software programming
• The final tournament
• Winners explain tips and tricks that allowed their robot to emerge victorious
• End-of-camp presentations in front of parents: parents are invited to arrive at 3.30 pm for end-of-camp presentations, 30 minutes before the regular end-of-camp time
